New York City home to thounds… and where millions love to visit! Why not have a place where these people can get to know each other perhaps!

Meeting bowls, a concept form Spain, are hugs bowl shaped seating areas intended for strangers to gather and meet and greet each other. These bowls can be found in Times Square (of course)! 46th and Broadway but only for a limited time (til Sept 16th).
I love the idea… however I feel like real New Yorkers are seldom in Times Square. They should try these bowls in other boroughs as well or at least Williamsburg.

When I was younger I was in love with charm bracelets! As long as a bracelet had dangly things I wanted it… then i grew out of it, I figured I couldn't wear rainbows and unicorn charmed bracelets all my life. But in my adult life I say honestly, why not? She recently posted a lil' spread where she wore a few Rugby Ralph Lauren pieces and a beautiful vintage (from the 70s to be exact) long coat. I want to commend her for styling those pieces together oh-so-well. I am only this excited for her wearing Rugby because I work for Rugby Ralph Lauren in NYC. Ok so, I'm going to start with the conclusion for this post...the conclusion is, Louboutin should strictly stick to heels.

Christian Louboutin's Rantus Orlato men's high top sneakers for Fall/Winter 2010 are kind of a bad look for them. Of course this is MY opinion and that's why this is MY blog, but they are hmmmm... i'll just say ugly! There's a whole lot going on, I just don't find them very stylish or high-end.

You tell me....

And then their are the other shoes in the Fall collection that are equally as repulsive.

So.... back to my conclusion, agreed?

On a beautiful Tuesday afternoon meeting up with friends in Soho, as I am walking down Rivington I see this store name Leekan Designs, slow down and peep in and wow! This store is home to amazing overseas influenced wonders!! African and Asian are the main influences, this isn't just a street mart find, they have real objects from Africa and Asia. I couldn't close my mouth, and I wanted to spend my last pennies in there 'til my friend yanked me out of there! Thanx

Well enough talking...here are the beauties:

They teamed up to create a place to talk about what they "like and see and do and feel..." on matters of fashion, beauty, places and culture.

I personally enjoy what they've done because to me they have brought the fun into the www of fashion! It's been confirmed the iPhone 4 is launching June 24th on AT&T. Available in both black and white, the 16GB iPhone 4 will cost $199 while the 32GB model will go for $299. Both prices reflect 2-year contract prices with AT&T. The iPhone 3GS will replace the iPhone 3G. Unfortunately the storage capacity will drop to 8GB, but then again so will the price. It will go for $99 on contract.

Sunday 12.13.2009 my friends Taisha and Durell and I went out for brunch in the city and as we go to catch our F train we see a strange train pull up. This train was labeled S for Special train which ran from Queens to Lower East Side. The train was built in 1931 and serviced NYC through the 70s. It was cool to see, and eveyone was taking pictures! There were old ads inside and even ceiling fans!!

It brings together over seven hundred examples of rarely or never-before-seen drawings, paintings, photographs, moving image works, concept art, storyboards, puppets, maquettes, costumes, and cinematic ephemera from such films as Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman, Mars Attacks!, Ed Wood, and Beetlejuice, and from unrealized and little-known personal projects that reveal his talent as an artist, illustrator, photographer, and writer working in the spirit of Pop Surrealism. The gallery exhibition is accompanied by a complete retrospective of Burton’s theatrical features and shorts, as well as a lavishly illustrated publication.

I had the pleasure of going to the exhibition this weekend and it was truly amazing, not only to see his work up close and personal but to see his earlier works from childhood to the present was serious! There are some pieces that will have you laughing and others that will have you questioning the man's sanity (lol). In conclusion definitely something to go and see and speaking from experience it's a trillion times better when you go with someone awesome ;-).

Nike recently setup its latest retail space in Japan, this time taking place in the historic fashion section of Harajuku. And what a beautiful set-up it is, if I may say so myself. An official opening is set for tomorrow November 14th, 2009 with a special appearance from several high profile names, including Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka.

I'm excited to announce that I am going to begin featuring a new posting on my blog which is basically entertainment for you and I. I will feature pictures that I have acquired in a very sneaky iPhone on mute kind of way, of different people or things that I see or experience on the train here in NYC.(I know it's not original) however I thought this would be cool because I see a lot of different things, mostly crazy, funny maybe sometimes cute that NYC has going on under the streets.

Kanye West's Clothing line: Pastelle

There were celebrations of joy after word got out that Kanye's line Pastelle was finally in full affect. Pictures went up, and opinions were made however not too long ago the source, where the info first broke out, swaggerdap.com was asked to take the photos down. Apparently Pastelle has been cancelled and therefore the pictures are not valid (they were from a previous photoshoot). Even MTV.com was in on the celebration turned funeral of the clothing line.

What I'd like to know is what the HELL happened?

Fashion Week: Carolina Herrara Show

I woke up @ 7am yesterday which,by the way, is a time I'd rather not see; however this early rise was for fashions sake! Raina, the designer I intern for, got me and others on the list for the Carolina Herrara fashion show at the "tents" in Bryant Park.

"How amazing..." my thoughts as I approach the tents. "What the..." was my next thought when I saw protestors rallying in front because of Carolina Herrara's use of lambskin in her collection. Boy were they intense, one man was in a dress drenched in fake blood, heels, holding a fake lamb fetus and wearing a mask of a lambs head!

He and the rest of the gang were screaming "Carolina what the hell, how many fetus' do you have to sell!"
Crazy.

Moving along...we get in through the first line, then the next one is checking the list, as we wait I am just admiring the fact that I am in NYC Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Bryant Park Tent!!!! :sigh: and just as I am taking it all in... Rachel Zoe walks in, with assistant Brad in her shadows of course, stops at the check-in table says "I'm Rachel..." like duh and gives a little smile and keeps it moving. She looked great. =o)

And we're moving... We get in, I decide to not take a seat simply because I have to be at work in a half an hour! So I make my way to the back where others are standing, peering into the crowd to see who I can spot...Gasp! Noo... Yes... That's definetly her signature haircut! It's Anna Wintour I feel blessed to be in the same room as her.

Now to the show, finally right! The show was amazing! Very beautiful, feminine pieces I was loving the silouhettes, fabrics and details and Chanel Iman I heart her. Some of the color choices were a bit redundant in my opinion, but who am I!

Fashion Week

It's officially fashion week and the shows have started and the people are talking.
I did indeed attend Fashion's Night Out... It was crazy! The streets of SoHo were packed with fashion folks, every major store had their own parties going on within and there were lines for the best ones of course! But all of my plans for the night didn't play out due to the weather (sadface) it was raining which ruined alot of plans however I did enjoy the night.

It is September and not only does it mean the weather is beginning to change and school is back but it means FASHION WEEK!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NYC September 10th through the 17th is a HUGE ordeal in the fashion world as we all know. There has been preparations for this one week happening since last year! All of the best and highly-known designers will be showing their Spring 2010 collection in the Tents @ Brynt Park and only those blessed with invitations will be able to view them. Right now I can only dream of being able to attend a show, however, soon enough I will get an invite! (LoL)

BUT there is one event that no one needs and invitation to and it is Fashion's Night Out

This year Vogue and the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) are holding an event called Fashion's Night Out. This event taking place Thursday September 10th from 6pm-11pm is to promote retail, restore consumer confidence and celebrate fashion. It is an international event and with be happening in 13 other fashion capitals. This is a one time event where participating retailers will keep their stores and boutiques open late for more shopping and they will have special events going on such as meet and greets with designers like Oscar De La Renta, Alexander Wang; celebrity appearances, mini-concerts, make-overs, signings, fashion shows and so much more! This will be held through-out all New York boroughs but especially in Manhattan of course. They are even having a city-wide clothing drive to raise money for AIDS charities annnnnnd some proceeds from that night will go to the 9/11 memorial.

The whole idea is to promote shopping and to show people that there is no need to be scared of shopping it is the only way the economy will get back in shape! I love it... I think it will be very fun and we will be helping a cause and that's always a good reason for anything in my book!

Ryann photoshoot

As you all know I intern @ Ryann along with Josefina for designer Raina. Today's job was shooting for her Spring 2010 lookbook.

It was an outdoor shoot and we met at 10am @ an art studio in Williamsburg(apparently where Basquiat once worked), started around noon for the best lighting.

The model, 19 year-old Elana from Italy, was great out there although the sun was beating down on us with no mercy!

Photographer Tono made the set very fun... I was even named his assistant for the day (lol) I learned about filling and lighting! Raina hired Keith as the stylist, who brought the most interesting pieces of jewelry and a hair/makeup artist whose name slips my mind at the moment... However she was wonderful and full of great conversation!

The day went well, we had funny moments like moving trash out they way for the perfect shot and covering Elana so she can change in the street, we saw a man riding a unicycle and Elana running through the studio naked looking for the next outfit!
